IMPROVISING STEVE VAI's STYLE AT THE STUDIO The Lydian Mode is the most exotically beautiful, mysterious - sometimes even aggressive - scale that exists among the natural modes. Although widely used since Debussy it was in the mid 80's that the Lydian Mode flourished in Cinematic/Film music with all of the extremely interesting melodies John Williams created for Spielberg’s movies. A few years later Joe Satriani and later Steve Vai coined their styles using mostly this mode. Fact is we still love its sound today. |

METHIANO - Tribute to Pat Metheny Composed this piece totally influenced by "Minuano" one of the most beautiful tracks Pat Metheny has ever composed. I was testing for Line6 back then and using the POD HD 500 tried to recreate, using only an audio source, the famous synth tone Pat uses. |
