At the height of his educational formation William had the luck to find himself under the mentorship of several highly regarded professionals mostly due to his location and timing but also because of his willingness to work hard and obsessive desire to seize the opportunity.
Guitarists the caliber of Leo Brouwer in classical and Scott Henderson in Jazz Fusion have printed an indelible mark on William’s musical personality as a performer and composer.
In 1990 he graduated with a master's degree in Composition from the Superior Institute of Arts in Havana where he was mentored by no other than Mr.Harold Gramatges.
After being the lead guitarist of Sintesis, with whom William toured Europe for most of the early 90’s he stayed in Bristol and Barcelona long years where the emerging Electronic music scene deeply influenced his views on music technology and changed the way he’d approach both composition and guitar playing in the years to come.
Going back and forth between dissimilar genres whether playing guitar for a jazz/fusion band while composing D’n’B and Trance he eventually ended up recording for Warner Music with the renowned Metal (later pop rock) band Kerigma until his departure as a solo artist with his own Electronic project “The 2014”.
Today he eagerly studies whatever new arises on the technological horizon (sound design being the obsession of the day) spreading his energy among various projects, William Guitar, Willox Studio and Miami Cube Coalition pursuing what he calls The Music of Everything analogizing the Theory of Everything from theoretical physics.
